The General Meeting of the Hungarian Railway Association unanimously elected András Végh, Deputy CEO of the CER Cargo Holding, as the new Chairman of the Audit Committee of HUNGRAIL without a vote against or abstention. The nomination runs until February 25, 2022.
András Végh has serious professional experience in the railway sector, since he started his career at MÁV, Ferencváros railway station, in 1987, in executive service positions. 10 years later, he was appointed a senior employee of the Development and Investment Department of the MÁV General Directorate, and from 1999 he was the head of the international freight group of MÁVCONT LTD.
After that, he spent the first decade of the 2000s as the logistics manager of Wienerberger LTD before being nomitanted the commercial director of CER Hungary LTD in 2010. A year later, he continued his career as CER Cargo Holding’s Deputy Chief Commercial Officer, and from 2014 as Director of International Relations. Between 2018 and 2020, he was the Deputy CEO of GYSEV Cargo, and since 2020, András Végh has been the Deputy CEO of CER Cargo Holding.
The specialist, who speaks both English and German languages well, graduated from the University of Technology with a degree in Technical Education and then from the Széchenyi István University in Győr as a Logistics and Forwarding Engineer. He also successfully completed Wienerberger Holding AG’s German-language international leadership training program and he also completed the training of Hungarian Television and Hungarian Radio specialist in the mid-1990s.
The versatile specialist – as the father of two young ladies in his private life – enjoys playing sports and music, and Lajos Hódosi also consulted with HUNGRAIL Managing Director regarding his nomination.
